Digital Strategy for Schools

The Department of Education and Skills commenced a digital strategy for schools in 2015 -“Digital Strategy for Schools 2015-2020: Enhancing Teaching, Learning and Assessment” - http://www.education.ie/en/Publications/Policy-Reports/Digital-Strategy-for-Schools-2015-2020.pdf

Arising from this strategy, the following strands are now operational in schools:
  • Post-primary digital learning framework on integrating ICT into teaching and learning was published in - https://www.education.ie/en/Schools-Colleges/Information/Information-Communications-Technology-ICT-in-Schools/digital-learning-framework-post-primary.pdf
  • Teacher professional development programme - http://www.pdsttechnologyineducation.ie/en/Planning/
  • Development of ICT infrastructural requirements, including an ICT equipment grant and improved broadband services to schools
