Applications are sought from ASTI members for nomination to the Irish Congress of Trade Unions (ICTU) Disability Committee for the 2017-2019 period. The Congress Disability Committee works to promote equality for people with disabilities in the workplace and within trade unions.
For a variety of complex reasons, people with disabilities are only half as likely to be in employment as others of working age. The two most important supports identified by people with disabilities who would like to work are flexible work arrangements and modified job tasks. Congress is working with the Government and disability groups to help those with disabilities enter and remain in employment.
