ASTI activist Marina Carlin is a candidate in the upcoming elections to the Governing Body of the National University of Ireland (NUI), the NUI Senate.

NUI graduates may vote in this election by applying for a voting paper by 23rd September using the application form available here. This form may be completed and emailed to [email protected] or returned by post to the NUI records office.

Marina is an Autism Special Class teacher, Assistant Principal (policy development role) and Board of Management member in Scoil Mhuire, Buncrana, Co. Donegal. She is a member of the ASTI Central Executive Committee and Donegal Branch Equality Officer. Marina has extensive experience at regional, national and international levels in developing strategies for young people which foster a positive environment and address educational disadvantage. She is a Director of Donegal Youth Service since 2008 and incoming Chairperson of the service.

Completed voting papers must be posted to arrive by Wednesday October 5th. Please remember to include your signed declaration form with your vote, to ensure that your vote is valid. 

While Marina is running for this election in a personal capacity ASTI is very happy to promote her for election due to her longstanding involvement with our union at branch and national level.
