The Department of Education and Skills has issued an information note confirming the continuation of an amendment to arrangements under the Career Break Scheme for the 2018/19 school year. The amendment means that there is no cap on the amount of substitution hours for teachers on career break who are undertaking substitution work during the 2018/19 school year.
The amendment was first implemented in January 2018 in response to teacher supply issues.
