Teachers with conditional registration with the Teaching Council – Final call to contact Teaching Council

The Teaching Council is making a final call for registered teachers with a conditional expiry date in February 2019 to get in touch immediately. Any teacher who does not submit the evidence that they have addressed the condition(s) or apply for an extension to the period of their conditional registration by close of business on Friday 1 March 2019 will automatically lapse from the register. Information received after the 1 March 2019 cannot be processed. Where a teacher lapses from the Register and subsequently wishes to be re-registered, the law requires that a full application form for registration in addition to a vetting application, qualification transcripts, overseas police clearance etc. is required. Teachers who lapse from the Register are not eligible for backdating of registration to cover the period of non-registration and therefore they cannot be paid from State funds for any period of non-registration.
