Former ASTI President Elected Chairperson of the Teaching Council

Former ASTI President, Eamon Dennehy, was recently elected as Chairperson of the Teaching Council. A teacher of engineering at Heywood Community School, Ballinakill, Co. Laois he currently serves as Secretary of the Laois branch of the ASTI and on the ASTI Central Executive Council (CEC).

Eamon states that he is honoured to be elected Chairperson of the Council. He is keenly aware of the broader challenges facing education and is committed to working collaboratively with all stakeholders in the interests of the teaching profession and its central role in our education system.

Eamon is also joined on the Teaching Council by ASTI members Adrieanne Healy, Anne Loughnane, Pat Knightly and Adrian Guinan.

ASTI wishes them every success in the work on behalf of teachers in their respective roles within the Teaching Council.
