Following the announcement of further restoration of Posts of Responsibility at Post Primary level in Budget 2024, with 500 additional posts being created with effect from 1st September 2024, Circular Letter 31/2024 has issued to schools.
Agreement has been reached by the relevant stakeholders on an accelerated recruitment process.

Please note, schools/ETBs can now proceed to fill these posts in accordance with the provisions of the agreed memorandum.
It has also been agreed to extend eligibility to certain categories of teachers to apply for the positions of AP1, AP2 and Programme Co-ordinator positions. An information note will issue from the Department of Education in the coming days setting out the new eligibility criteria.
