Revised child protection procedures

Revised child protection procedures are now operative in schools since December 11^th. Schools must meet the new Child Safeguarding Statement requirements as set out in Chapter 8 of the new procedures by 11 March 2018. Circular letter 0081/17 provides an overview of the requirements on schools and teachers under the new procedures. The circular states that schools will be permitted two separate half-day school closures during the 2017/18 school year to allow time, as a school community, to engage with the revised procedures and to access the support available from the PDST in February.
