As you will know, the Minister for Education and Skills made an announcement regarding this year’s Certificate Examinations on Good Friday.
Standing Committee met immediately and again on Tuesday 14th April.

Discussions with the Department of Education and Skills are about to commence and will continue intensively over the coming weeks. These will be to establish how the altered arrangements for the running of the state examinations and the certification of students’ learning will take place in 2020.
ASTI is in receipt of an extremely large volume of emails and other communications from members. All of the views and opinions have been noted and will inform the position of ASTI in the coming weeks and months and in the discussions referred to above. A dedicated email address, [email protected] has been set up to receive any further submissions.
Large numbers of queries have also been received. The detail of how the Minister’s announcement will be implemented will become known in the coming weeks. ASTI will publish information as it comes to hand. Please keep an eye on this website.
