Substitute teachers and teachers on short fixed-term contracts who are paid by the Department of Education and Skills and who have experienced issues with their tax credits in recent weeks should contact their local revenue office (contact details available at www.revenue.ie – you will need your PPS number).
When contacting revenue, members who have been affected should raise the issue of the possible need to re-register the Department of Education and Skills as their employer and the need for the re-allocation of their tax credits.
The ASTI will be contacting the Department of Education and Skills to arrange an urgent meeting to seek a long-term solution to this issue.
