As part of the ‘Strategic Workforce Planning for Teachers’ project, in collaboration with Ireland’s Department of Education and the European Commission, UNESCO has launched two surveys designed to investigate the causes of teacher shortages in Ireland.
The surveys aim to assess the extent of teacher shortages and to identify the key factors contributing to the issue. Insights gathered will inform the development of targeted recommendations to help address these challenges and support schools more effectively.
The surveys should take 10-20 minutes to complete. Responses will only be used to inform the analysis as part of this project. All responses are anonymous and no individual will be identified. Results may be broken down by county and larger administrative areas.
There are two separate surveys - one for school principals and one for teachers:
The surveys remain open until Sunday the 9th of March.
