On International Workers' Memorial Day (April 28th) we remember all those who have been killed, injured, or made ill at work.
This year, ICTU has adopted the ETUC (European Trade Union Confederation) slogan for this year's International Workers' Memorial Day: "Workplace health and safety - it's your right".
A commemorative wreath-laying event highlighting safety in the workplace will be broadcast from the Garden of Remembrance on social media and on ICTU's website at 12 noon on Wednesday, 28th April. It will include a poem about loss recited by front-line healthcare workers, and a message from Dr. Mike Ryan of WHO.
