The Government must commit to equal pay for post 2010 entrants to teaching if it is serious about recruiting and retaining 1,080 additional second-level teachers as outlined in the Response Plan for Safe Re-opening of Schools, the new ASTI President Ann Piggott has stated.
ASTI requests Minister to seek review of medical advice for reopening of schools
The ASTI has written to the Minister for Education, Norma Foley TD, to request that she seek a general review by the Health Protection Surveillance Centre of the interim recommendations issued in June, prior to schools reopening in late August.

Gov. confirms intention to honour Public Service Agreement
ASTI has been advised that at a meeting between the Minister for Public Expenditure and Reform and officials the officers of the Public Services Committee of ICTU it was confirmed that the Government’s intention is to honour the terms of the Public Service Stability Agreement, including the final payment of 2% due on 1 October.
